About our Show
Peter Pan: The Rise of Hook is a brand-new, high-flying musical adventure that asks the question: What if Captain Hook wasn’t always a villain?
This sweeping two-act musical combines the magic of Neverland with the heart of a father-son story, the thrill of swashbuckling pirates, and the timeless wonder of believing in something bigger than yourself. It’s packed with bold characters, huge ensemble moments, and a fresh score that blends pop-theatrical anthems, haunting ballads, and big group numbers that audiences will be humming long after curtain call.
At its heart, Peter Pan: The Rise of Hook is a story about legacy, belonging, and the cost of chasing dreams. It’s fun, it’s fierce, it’s emotional—and it leaves the audience asking: When does a hero become a villain… and is it ever too late to turn back?
THE HUMAN WORLD
James (Protagonist)
A curious, imaginative boy on the edge of growing up. James longs for adventure but also aches for connection, especially with the father he never knew. His journey is the heart of the show—he transforms from dreamer to someone who must choose who he wants to become.
Margaret (Mother) – Doubles as Mermaid
A grounded and protective mother who has been shaped by loss. Margaret resists magic because it once cost her everything. Her emotional arc contrasts Neverland’s wonder, making her eventual connection to its world even more meaningful.
Gran (Grandmother) – Doubles as Fairy
Eccentric, loving, and wiser than she lets on. Gran has always believed in magic and holds the last vial of fairy dust from James’s father. She helps set James’s journey in motion and reveals the hidden truths that tie the human world to Neverland.
THE FAIRIES & THE MERMAIDS
These two groups serve as Neverland’s ancient keepers of memory, prophecy, and truth. Their presence brings atmosphere, mystery, and musical depth.
Fairies
Ethereal guides who reveal truth through song. They are living history—quiet observers who understand Neverland better than anyone.
- Lumina – Queen of the Fairies; wise, glowing, and touched by sorrow
- Thistle – Mischievous scout, bold, and loyal. Tink’s closest friend.
- Mothi – Mysterious and poetic; speaks in riddles that foreshadow what’s coming.
Mermaids
Serene and ancient, they guard the borders between sea and sky. Their role is to warn, guide, and reveal prophecies that humans often ignore.
- Sirona – Calm, all-seeing leader who understands James’s path long before he does.
- Coralyn – Playful and intuitive; notices details others overlook.
- Zara – Stoic and suspicious; slow to trust outsiders.
THE PIRATE CREW
The pirates in this version aren’t simple villains—they’re a found family shaped by ambition, loyalty, and dangerous dreams.
Captain Everard
James’s father. Once a respected explorer, now a charismatic and visionary pirate captain who believes he can fuse Neverland with the human world. His choices set the entire story into motion.
Pirate Crew Members
Each pirate adds texture, comedy, or danger to Everard’s world.
- Smee – Everard’s devoted first mate; sweet, bumbling, and full of heart.
- Noodler – Tough blacksmith who later designs James’s hook—a pivotal moment in Act II.
- Cookson – The spy; stealthy and always watching.
- Starkey – The muscle; strategic, fierce, and unshakably loyal.
- Whibbles – The humorous wild card; speaks in gibberish only pirates (sometimes) understand.
THE LOST BOYS/KIDS
A chaotic band of eternal children who follow Peter Pan with ferocious loyalty. They bring energy, comedy, and heart to Neverland.
Peter Pan
Not the simple hero from the classic tale. Peter is brave, impulsive, and charismatic—but also flawed. He sees James as a friend, then a rival, and their conflict becomes a defining turning point in the story.
Tinker Bell (Tink)
Fiery, loyal, and clever. Protects Peter fiercely and has little patience for outsiders – especially James.
Lost Kids
- Nibs – Thinks he’s the leader and loves inventing rules on the spot. Confident and theatrical.
- Curley – Delightfully chaotic; always tangled—physically or verbally.
- Slightly – Thoughtful and philosophical; the “brain” of the group.
- Tootles – Sweet, sensitive, overlooked at times. Loves music and imagination.
